HELLO! MY NAME IS ANNA.
Since the days I was tucked into my bunk bed reading Twilight by the light of a white-hot reading lamp, I have gravitated toward storytelling. Whether this manifested through those sleepless nights spent finishing a series or scribbling down a short story in my math notebook, reading and writing have always felt like second nature to me.
This passion for literature ultimately led me to pursue an English and Creative Writing degree at DePaul University, where I graduated in June 2023. During my time there, I honed my skills in various genres, including fiction, nonfiction, copywriting, and screenwriting.
My work has been published in Crook & Folly, an arts and literature magazine, and has been recognized by DePaul several times: I won the 2020 First-Year Writing Award, was a selected speaker at the 2021 annual Spring English Conference, and was one of eight students in my class to graduate with Distinction in English.
I most enjoy writing about relationships, culture, and film. I tend to hold strong opinions about most topics, and I am not known to be shy when it comes to expressing them-- whether this be through a poetry collection, a film analysis, or a personal essay.
Now, I am looking to continue to expand my technique, share my work, and gain valuable experience in the writing and entertainment industry.
